National Conference on the Beginning Design Student

I am really looking forward to attending this conference this week.  I also enjoy Chicago.  When I last attended a couple of years ago, it was held at Penn State. Their architecture school facilities where amazing, and I heard and gathered great ideas and innovations in teaching design!

I've really been enjoying my new car.  It is perfect for being an interior designer.  The back is absolutely huge - it will hold lots of samples and objet d'art  It's even fun to drive, but not as much as my Audi I sold.

Piano Pavilion at the Kimbell

Mike and I really enjoyed ourselves last Friday afternoon by visiting the Renzo Piano Kimbell and the Samurai exhibit.  The horse armor was amazing and I loved the textiles!  Gorgeous.  The Piano is a fitting complement to Kahn's masterpiece.  I think all of Fort Worth is glad of the outcome.

New Camera

Nikon - D3200 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm VR Lens - Black - Larger Front

Bought a new camera in preparation for taking some scouting shots at one of my completed interiors.  A local magazine has shown interest!  It's not the best available, but better than my last which is going on 8 years. This ought to suit my purpose.  Watch for images of a loft downtown FW.

Helvitica Typeface Playing Cards

I'm adding these to my wish list! Great design!

Color Composition & Balance

Check out these terrific color palettes we created for our client who wanted grey or blue dominant hues.  We combined grey and chartreuse yellow, cerulean blue with navy and grey,  navy and grey with chartreuse lime, soft blue-violet with soft greys, and blues and greys with an accent of hot red-pink.  They were such a big hit, that our client had difficulty choosing!  I think the navy and chartreuse will be the winner (not shown).  Stay tuned for the final, it is still a work in progress!
