Here are some of my 2nd year interior design students work. The assignment was to utilize architectural precedent and a natural alive or once-living object for creating a light filtering pattern. Students could use all sorts of design operations; folding, shifting, layering, bending, folding. repetition, rotation, gradation, etc......
